Losing Dublin

Smithfield Flower Market

Photography by Liadh Connolly

Styling by Zoe Redmond

Through a collaboration of both photography and styling we aim to tell a story inspired by authentic working class communities in Dublin. Focusing on menswear, we want to promote the idea that a contemporary and interesting outfit can be made up of second hand clothing for a more ethical and sustainable approach to fashion. This series was photographed in the amazing, vibrant Smithfield Flower Market which will sadly be closed from August 2019.

Mac’s Salvage Yard

We continued our photographic and styling venture through Dublin, documenting old places that make the city what it is. By using these atmospheric sites as backdrops for our shoots we aim to capture, forever, places which may not exist in a few years’ time as developers carve their way through our historic city. Here we used Mac's Warehouse, a salvage yard in Kilmainham, filled with a world of gems, all used and previously loved – just like the clothes we choose for our projects.

The Bernard Shaw

The last location for this series, we photographed Donal in the beloved Bernard Shaw in October 2019 ahead of it's closure. It was featured in the Totally Dublin November 2019 edition. A sad goodbye to one of Dublin’s most loved venues but happy to have captured some of our favourite places in Dublin as they disappear before our eyes....'
